Friend, lately, I’ve been noticing how many things are shifting all at once. Everywhere we look, conversations are unfolding that would have sounded impossible just a few years ago.
When Everything Feels Like It’s Shifting
News stories that blur the line between science fiction and reality. Ongoing conflict and uncertainty across the globe. Conversations about AI, health, technology, energy, consciousness, and the future of humanity.
When things that once felt certain begin to change, it is natural to feel untethered. (Gosh, I know I’ve felt it. Maybe you have, too?)
Fear or Love: What Energy Are You Feeding?
When I feel myself becoming activated, I ask: What energy am I feeding right now—fear or love?
We can respond by going down social media/news rabbit holes, anxiously spiraling about what could be ahead. We can fear losing control. Fear change. Fear the unknown. Fear each other.
Turning Inwards Instead of Spiraling Outward
Or, we can notice what’s happening within our bodies and minds, and choose differently: to turn inward instead of spiraling outward.
We can tend to our own nervous systems. Our own hearts. Our own homes. Our own communities.
We can meet the moment with awe and groundedness.
Because truly, if we zoomed out a bit, isn’t this an extraordinary (and complex) time to be alive?
We get to experience things that our ancestors only dreamed of. We get answers to questions that have baffled brilliant minds for centuries. We get to witness humanity shifting in real time, discovering (maybe rediscovering) who we are and what we stand for.
And while we cannot control whether there will be wars, outbreaks, disruptions, or collective change, we can choose how we show up inside of those realities.
Staying Grounded Without Bypassing Reality
That doesn’t mean bypassing reality or pretending difficult things aren’t happening. It means refusing to let fear become the only lens through which we experience being alive.
And if fear takes hold in one moment? Choose love again in the next. Choose not to disconnect from the world, but to learn how to stay open, soft, and grounded within it. And how to hold wonder alongside discomfort.
Come Back Into Connection
Friend, if the world has felt especially loud and unstable lately, consider this your reminder to come back into connection.
With yourself. With nature. With people who make you feel safe and human. With love.
