What winter teaches us about being together

Friend,  isn’t it lovely how the world is quieting? The trees are bare. The skies are hushed. Even the sun is tucking itself in earlier each day.

Winter is the season of the slowdown. The natural invitation to draw inward—not just into our homes, but into ourselves and each other.

This time of year, creatures hibernate. But more than that, they huddle. They curl around each other for warmth and press close for safety. They find comfort in the quiet presence of another heartbeat.

I feel this so deeply in my bones; resting in this season feels gentler when we create warmth together.

And yet I know that “together” isn’t always possible or not always easy. Our relationships (both with others and with ourselves) can be tender, tangled things.

A friend gave me a card today with a teabag tucked inside and a little poem that read:

On Christmas Day at half-past three,

Make yourself this cup of tea.

I’ll think of you, you’ll think of me,

as we sit around the Christmas tree.

It was such a small thing, but it reminded me of the power that lies in intentional rituals and shared moments – even across miles, without words.

So, maybe this season, instead of reaching outward in search of more, let’s remember that much of what we need is already here. In the quiet, the slowness, and the soft warmth we share.

And, if this time of year feels heavy, or tender, or confusing… know that I’m here. My healing studio will be open throughout the holidays, and you’re always welcome to reach out if you need support – emotional, energetic, or spiritual.

And if you want to join me for a silent cup of tea at 3:30 pm on Christmas Day, just respond to this email. I’d love to share the moment with you. đź’›

In Love, Light, and healing,

P.S. – Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful, joyful, and deeply meaningful holiday season. However this season meets you, I hope you will remember to meet yourself with tenderness. đź’›
