This Is How We Heal – What to do when we’re not okay.

The world feels especially heavy. There’s so much grief, so much rage, so much noise. We’re bombarded with information—images, headlines, opinions—all designed to provoke, to pull, to push.

We’re left feeling disoriented. Disconnected—from each other, and from ourselves.

Our nervous systems weren’t built for this. You know that’s true. You can feel it in your tired bones, your shallow breath, and your disheartened spirit.

Something needs to shift. We need to shift.

But how?

I don’t pretend to have all the answers. But there are a few things I’ve come to know with certainty—shaped by my own healing journey and nearly 25 years of studying the mind and body.

I’ve captured those knowings here as a poem. In truth, a manifesto – a roadmap back to ourselves and each other.

This comes from so deeply within my Soul.

I hope this meets you where you are. That it reminds you that healing is still possible—even here, even now, even exactly as you are.

This Is How We Heal

(A shared commitment to Self, to Soul, and to one another.)

In a world that asks us to hide our pain,
rush our healing,
and keep going no matter the cost—
We choose differently.

We choose to return.
To the body we’ve been taught to ignore.
To the breath we’ve forgotten to follow.
To the truth that we were never meant to do this alone.

We heal when we meet ourselves in the now.
Right here. In this breath. In this body.
Just as we are.

We show up even when we’re unsure,
when our hearts are heavy,
and our minds whisper doubts.

We choose presence over dissociation.
Process over outcome.
Curiosity over fear.

We heal when we open the heart.
We honor our pain—
not as something to fix,
but as something to hold, feel, and move through.

We cry in the car and still call it courage.
We let our truths tremble as they rise.
We remember that grief and joy can live in the same breath.
That gentle is powerful.
That messy is sacred.

We heal when we invite deep insight.
We trust the wisdom already within—
in the body, in the breath,
in the quiet knowing beneath the noise.

We listen again.
We notice the tug of intuition.
The glimmers.
The pauses.

We heal when we return to resonance.
We let energy shift—gently, intentionally.
We make space for ease. For flow.
For the energy of who we are, moving freely again.

We release what’s heavy.
We let go of the old stories:
That we must be selfless to be worthy.
Burned out to be valuable.
Silent to be safe.
Perfect to be loved.

We restore what’s been depleted.
We rest—without guilt.
We refill what has been emptied.
We bring in what nourishes.
We let stillness speak.

We reclaim what’s always been ours.
Our energy.
Our voice.
Our connection.
Our wholeness.

We heal when we anchor into the Self and each other.
When we land in the truth of who we are.
When we remember:
We are not stuck.
We are not broken.
We are not behind.
When we give thanks for what is, and for what is becoming.

This is not a race nor a test.
This is a remembering.
A return to Self.
A beautiful expansion.

This is how we heal—
With mind, body, heart, and Soul.
Together.

A Framework for Healing

This poem isn’t just a nice sentiment —it reflects the framework that holds my entire practice. I call it the MOIRA Process™:

  • Meet in the now
  • Open the heart
  • Invite insight
  • Return to resonance
  • Anchor in Self & Community

Named after my mother in the stars, the MOIRA Process™ integrates nervous system regulation, energy practices, and mindfulness to create space for authentic, embodied healing. It is at the core of every space I hold, whether one-on-one or in community.

If these words resonated with you, I invite you to explore this framework more deeply. I offer somatic energy coaching, Reiki sessions, and sound healing experiences in Western New York as spacious, compassionate opportunities to heal.

In Love, Light & healing,

PS – Did a line from This Is How We Heal meet you in a meaningful way? I’d truly love to hear which one. Feel free to reach out—or share it with someone who may need it today.
