When we think of grief, we often imagine the loss of a loved one. We picture tears. Heartache. Longing.
But grief doesn’t just follow death. It can follow any ending that mattered – whether planned or unplanned.
And it doesn’t just live in the heart.
It lives in the lungs—the way breath tightens or won’t come.
In the belly—the knot of tension as we hang on to control.
In the nervous system—the brain fog, the numbness, the way time slows down.
Grief can sound like silence. It can feel like loneliness.
It can show up like you are floating through your life, not really inside it.
Or it can manifest as hyper-productivity or complete shutdown.
In truth, grief can be all of these things—sometimes all at once. And none of that means you’re broken.
It means your body and energetic system are trying to protect you.
Though it can feel really unpredictable, we know from grief theory, energy psychology, and biology, that this is all part of how grief moves us—and why so many of us get stuck.
To heal, grief needs to move through.
It needs to be witnessed, felt, met with compassion, and released.
So that it can reveal its true energy: Love.
Healing begins when we stop trying to do it alone.
In Love, Light, and healing,
