Friend, we are living in wild times. AI is evolving so rapidly that even tech leaders are pumping the brakes — warning us not to mistake simulations of empathy for the real thing.
Because they know: consciousness can’t be coded.
Though AI can play pretend pretty convincingly, underneath the costume there’s only empty space. A Soul can’t be faked.
And yet, more and more people are turning to AI for answers, comfort, and even companionship. (I even saw a Reddit thread where people were praising their “perfect relationships” with AI romantic partners.)
I understand why. There’s so much noise in the world, and so few places to feel truly seen. It can be tempting to confide in something that won’t (or can’t, by default) judge or interrupt you.
But please understand this: while AI might be able to mimic empathy, it cannot receive you.
It can’t feel the weight of your story in its own bones. It can’t offer you nervous system co-regulation. It can’t hold your hand or look you in the eye and say, “You’re still lovable. You’re still enough.”
The Power of Real Human Connection
I’ll never forget the first time I experienced that kind of soul-level connection.
I was in my first year of my Master’s program, newly moved to the United States, carrying heavy shame about a choice I had made. Though I didn’t show it on the outside, I felt guilty, regretful, and frankly, questioned whether I was a good person.
But then I met my first real friend there. Something about her warmth made me feel like I could breathe. And after some time building trust, I began to feel like I could risk showing up honestly.
So I told her my story.
She listened with so much gentleness and grace, patiently holding space for all of my rantings while I couldn’t make eye contact. When I finished, she smiled and said, “Is that all you’ve got?”
Not dismissively or sarcastically. With the kind of compassion that says, “That’s not too much for me to take in. You are not too much.”
That moment changed me. Not just because of her words, but also because of her presence. The way she saw me in the places I had hidden, and loved me anyway.
That’s magic. Pure, beautiful, healing magic.
And something that can only happen when two Souls see each other.
We Need More Soulful Spaces
We need more spaces like that. Where we gather meaningfully as humans, with all our beauty and our mess, our longing and our light.
That’s why I created Tender Circle. It’s where we pause, gather, breathe, and anchor into what is real: Shared energy. Compassion. Witnessing. Truth. And love.
If the thought of sharing the tender or messy parts of yourself feels scary — you’re not alone. Many of us arrive with that knot in our stomach at first, though you’ll find that it quickly loosens.
Remember: there’s no pressure here. You set the pace for what feels within your capacity. You can simply come, sip tea, and feel the energy of being together. That alone can be healing.
Also, rest assured that there is no force here. You can come as you are, engage within your capacity, and participate as you feel aligned. No judgment. EVER.

In Love, Light, and healing,

*P.S. – Tender Circle currently takes place in Lewiston, NY, every first Sunday of the month. We’re keeping this small and intimate (7 women max) so the space feels safe and nourishing. There’ll be tea, a little gift to take home, and one full hour of exhale. 💛
